Getting to Torugbene

Torugbene is accessible by road and waterway from Warri and other Delta State urban centres. The project site benefits from proximity to navigable river channels that reduce logistics costs.

From Warri (By Road)

Take Effurun–Ughelli road then continue via Ughelli–Warri Express toward Burutu. Follow signs to Torugbene area. Total distance approximately 120km from Warri city centre.

By Waterway (Preferred)

Access via Forcados River from Warri River Port. Speed boats operate regular services to Burutu LGA communities. Provides direct access to farm jetty infrastructure.

By Air — Nearest Airport

Warri (Osubi) Airport (QRW) is the nearest airport. From Osubi, proceed by road or waterway transfer as above. Port Harcourt International Airport (PHC) is also accessible within 2–3 hours.

Is Tantita Rice Farm currently operational?
Yes. The project is in advanced pre-implementation and early establishment phase as of 2026. Site selection is complete, engineering designs are prepared, and governance instruments are in place. Production begins in Year 1 with 25 hectares under cultivation.
What investment minimum applies for equity participation?

Can institutional buyers arrange forward supply contracts?
Yes. We actively seek forward offtake agreements with institutional buyers including government agencies, hospital groups, schools, and large corporates. These provide revenue predictability and preferred pricing. Contact our sales team to discuss terms.
How do I become a cooperative farmer-member?
Cooperative membership is open to farmers within the Torugbene and surrounding communities meeting eligibility criteria under the cooperative by-laws. Contact us for membership criteria, land contribution terms, and income structures for outgrower farmers.
What certifications does the rice production meet?
Production and processing comply with NAFDAC standards for domestically processed rice. HACCP protocols are embedded throughout the milling process. Water and soil quality monitoring programmes comply with NESREA environmental standards.
What is the minimum order quantity for wholesale buyers?

How does the cooperative dividend distribution work?
Cooperative members receive a 30% payout of net surplus from Year 3, when accounting profitability is first achieved. Members also receive annual farmgate paddy payments. Combined returns per member hectare are projected at ₦2.02m (Y1) rising to ₦2.60m (Y5).
